REMEMBRANCE DAY – SUNDAY 14th NOVEMBER

The Remembrance Day Parade will commence for those taking part in the parade, meeting at 10.15 a.m. at the rear of the Bowling Club in Penistone.

The parade will then commence at 10.30 a.m. and proceed with Thurlstone Brass Band to the Market Place for the service to commence. The wreath laying and outdoor church service will then take place at the war memorial.

Following the 2 minutes of silence the short service will continue outside where on completion the parade will march once round the Square about before finishing outside the RBL Legion Club.

In order to maintain safety for attendees and the public there will be a rolling road closure plan affecting the one way system which will be managed during the service, and lifted on completion of the Parade event. Roads that will be affected are Back Lane, Schole Avenue, Park Avenue, High Street, Shrewsbury Road, Market Place, Church Street and St Mary’s Street.

Members of the public are more than welcome to observe the parade and service.
