Penistone Town Council confirms that The Paramount Cinema will remain closed at the current time due to the National lockdown as advised by government on the 4th January 2021. Once further updates and changes have been announced by government we will then review our opening dates and times. The Community Centre is now also closed as per legislation until further updates are advised.

All the relevant user groups have been cancelled within The Community Centre, and all events and film screenings are cancelled at The Paramount and is in line with The Council’s wish to protect their staff and customers in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Measures are being taken to allow Council Officers to work from home as much as possible but we are to maintain a background service for the Town Council’s offices. This will be reviewed when further National COVID government restrictions are updated.

All Council meetings are to still be held remotely via Zoom on the 3rd Monday in each month with notices of meetings placed on the website advising public and press how to gain access. Any additional necessary meetings and/or operating decisions will be taken either after electronic communication or in line with current YLCA guidance.

We will continue to publish updates on our website and on social media (click here to view our Facebook page).  This is an anxious time for all residents and staff and we ask for your forebearance over the next few months.

Please either leave a message on the Council Office number: 01226 370088 or kindly use the contact page through our website and the email addresses provided and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Alternatively in an emergency we can be contacted on the following mobile numbers:
