St John’s Community Centre is now open
The renovation work at St John’s Community Centre is completed and the building is now open to the public and rooms available to hire.

Resource Centre
The Resource Centre is situated on the same site as the Community Centre and is the modern building below the car park. It is currently the houses the PTC Offices along with the Banking Hub. For more info about the Banking Hub please see this page.

Road Closure: Barnsley Rd, Penistone, 23-06-2024
Barnsley Rd, Penistone will be closed either side of the railway bridge, from 23 June 2024 for approximately 1 day.
Speed Restriction, Penistone – Ingbirchworth, July 2024
There will be a 40mph speed restriction on A629 Halifax Road and A629 Huddersfield Road from 1 July 2024 for approximately one month.

A D-Day 80th Anniversary Commemoration will take place at the War Memorial outside St John’s Church on Thursday 6th June 2024 at 10.45am.
Temporary Speed Restriction, Halifax Rd, Penistone
A 40mph speed restriction will be in place on Halifax Road from Wellhouse Lane to Huddersfield Road, from 6th May 2024 for approximately five weeks.
MAYhem Street Theatre, 5th May, Penistone
MAYhem is a FREE street theatre and circus festival with a variety of exciting and fun acts coming to Penistone on Sunday 5th May 2024.
Road Closure: Huddersfield Rd, 11th—21st April (approx)
A section of Huddersfield Rd, Penistone will be closed from 11th April 2024 at least until 21st April 2024 for safety reasons following a collapsed wall. Alternative routes are available.
