Community Centre Temporary Closure
Please note that due to essential renovation work the whole of the Community Centre building will be inaccessible until the end of March 2025 at the earliest. However, the PTC offices — in the Resource Centre below the car park — will be open as usual during this time.

An election was held on 12th September 2024 for a Parish Councillor for Penistone Town Council – Penistone Ward.
Temporary Road & Footpath Closures 14/09/2024
On the day of the Penistone Show, Bluebell Avenue, Green Road, High Street, Clarel Street, Chapelfield Lane, Schole Avenue, Back Lane and Market Lane, Penistone will be closed on 14 September 2024 between 0600 and 2000.
Heritage Day at the Paramount – 14/09/2024
The Paramount will be open all day long for everyone to have a wander in and see the place as it looks in the daytime, have a chat to the fantastic staff, and learn more about its 110 year history.
Cycle Race comes through Penistone
Cycling’s Tour of Britain men’s race stage came through Penistone on 5th September 2024. Needless to say in our area, this part of the race is a “hill climb” and provided a real test for some of the world’s top riders. Here’s a selection of photos taken by the town clerk.

A resident of Sheffield Road in Springvale has contacted PTC to report that 2 men claiming to be from Penistone Council came to her house. These people were NOT from Penistone Council.

Berrywell Avenue, Castle Close (to the end) and Burnett Close (footpath), for the full length will be closed for approximately 7 days.

Dransfield Ave and Wilson Ave will be closed from 2nd September 2024 for approximately one week.

Footpath adjacent to Four Falls between Folly Lane to Old Anna Lane will be closed for up to 6 months.
Relocation of PTC Offices
The Penistone Town Council office and team have temporarily relocated to the Resource Centre.
