TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE.
An order will be made to close the following streets:
- Bridge Street, Penistone between Barnsley Road and St Mary’s Street.
- St Mary’s Street, Penistone between Bridge Street and Market Place.
- Market Street, Penistone between Bridge Street and Park Avenue.
- Shrewsbury Road, Penistone between Market Street and Market Place.
Roads will be closed on a phased basis from 24 September 2023 for approximately 3 weeks. Closures will be in place overnight only between 1900 and 0500 (except Sundays between 1800 and 0500). Closures may not be on consecutive nights. The full extents listed will not all be closed at the same time.
Reason: Carriageway resurfacing
An alternative route for vehicles under 4 metres in height is available via
Barnsley Road/High Lee Lane/Oxspring Lane/Jockey Road/Rag Lane/Thurgoland Bank/Sheffield Road/Shrewsbury Road.
An alternative route for vehicles over 4 metres in height is available via
Thurlstone Road/Manchester Road/Hartcliff Road/Hartcliff Hill Road/Mossley Road/Mortimer Road/High Street.
