Penistone Town Council confirms that The Paramount Cinema will remain closed from Wednesday 2nd December until Saturday 19th 2020 due to National COVID government restrictions. Once further updates and changes have been announced government we will then review our opening dates and times. The Community Centre is now open for limited service to allow user groups that are under 18 years old and for The Country market that will be held on Thursday 10th and 17th December 2020.
All the relevant user groups have been cancelled within The Community Centre, and all events and film screenings are cancelled at The Paramount and is in line with The Council’s wish to protect their staff and customers in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic.
Measures are being taken to allow Council Officers to work from home as much as possible but we are to maintain a background service for the Town Council’s offices. The Office’s are to be open temporarily Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and we would request that members of the public to call and arrange an appointment beforehand whenever possible in order that we may monitor and maintain social distancing. This will be reviewed when further National COVID government tier restrictions have been updated.
All Council meetings are to still be held remotely via Zoom on the 3rd Monday in each month with notices of meetings placed on the website advising public and press how to gain access. Any additional necessary meetings and/or operating decisions will be taken either after electronic communication or in line with current YLCA guidance.
