The new Mayor
The sun blazed down on Penistone in characteristic (just kidding!) fashion last weekend as we celebrated our annual Gala, ably organised by the Penistone Round Table.
The fun kicked off on Saturday night at the Paramount Cinema; as Tristan Drew and the guys of 80s Regeneration had us all up out of our seats, dancing and singing along to pop classics of the era – some serious shapes were thrown and some of us are still feeling the effects!!! All profits went to the Mayor’s charity Barnsley Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Service.
On Sunday morning the first event was Jack and Paul’s 2K Fun Run, organised by Claire Throssell MBE in aid of her charity Heads Together Barnsley; followed by the Mayor’s Parade through Penistone and an afternoon spent enjoying the live acts and demonstrations, stalls, displays, fairground and of course the drinks tent! Thank you to everyone who helped in the organisation, all who attended to support the event and of course our sponsors West Siphonics Ltd, CD Autos and Simon Blyth Estate Agents.
