Penistone’s Deputy Mayor Cllr. Mandy Lowe-Flello (far left) joins the staff of Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support (BIADS) at St John’s Community Centre for their first drop in meeting for people affected by dementia.
BIADS is an organisation formed by Barnsley people to provide support to other Barnsley people who have any form of dementia and their families and friends. As an independent group serving the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley they can guarantee that all funds raised and donations received will be used in the Barnsley area.
From their dedicated dementia centre on Dodworth Road, Barnsley they provide support to those affected by dementia, their carers, families and friends by providing information, emotional support, social opportunities, meaningful activities and events.
The dementia day centre provides a safe friendly environment for people with dementia.
