Penistone Paramount
Situated on Shrewsbury Road, the Penistone Paramount is a 344-seat single-screen cinema and large stage for live events. It’s a hugely popular and valuable community resource and continues to go from strength to strength. It’s normally open every day except Christmas Day.
Built as the Assembly Hall for Penistone in 1914, the Penistone Paramount celebrated its 110th year entertaining audiences in November 2024.
The building is still owned by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council but the business itself is operated by Penistone Town Council, and run by a team of dedicated staff.
