Please note that minutes are published around one month after the original meeting: one of the first items on council meetings' agenda is the approval of the previous minutes by all present members - minutes cannot be published until this has been passed.

The minutes on this website have been ratified by the Town Council and signed by the Mayor on behalf of the Town Council accordingly.

Once signed they become a legally binding document, recording the accurate official business transacted by the Town Council.

The minutes can therefore be produced in a court of law if required or requested.

Summaries posted on other websites from Town Council meetings are strictly the views of the individual, and should not be construed as a true and accurate record of Town Council proceedings.

Penistone Town Council wishes to encourage public participation during its meetings in order to use this as one means of consulting with the public. However, the Council recognises that rules must control the manner of participation in order that the Council Meeting may continue to operate effectively. For full information please read the Public Particiption Document.

Dates of Meetings - 2018-2019

Town Council meetings are all held on the 3rd Monday of the month except August when the Council does not meet. The meetings are convened in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Shrewsbury Road at 7.00pm Ten minutes' public participation is always set aside from 7.0 – 7.10pm prior to the meeting proper.
